This battery seperator (Relay) is designed to be used when charging 2 or more batteries. Charging current is 40A. The relay is to be installed between the primarary and secondary battery. The relay can be set to either UNI-polar or BI-polar use. When bipolar (bi-directional) is selected it means you can mount the charger either on the primary or secondary side. When charger is on primary side it works as follows: The relay is normally "open".  When the primary battery is fully charged the relay turns to "closed" and both batteries is now charged. When consumption is detected the battery voltage drops and the relay turns to "open" so only the primary battery will be drained and the secondary battery will stay almost fully charged. When charger is placed on the secondary side it works the opposite way. Instructions regarding installation and settings can be seen in the manual.
